Why Everyone Should Learn How To Sew: Reasons To Get You Started

My sewing machine arrived in the mail. Since the beginning of quarantine in March 2020, I’ve been trying new stuff. From the Dalgona trend, Zombie movies or drama series, TikTok trends, or trying a new recipe. I’m part of the ‘Welcome Generation.’ …

About Andrea Reese

Hi! It’s so nice of you to visit. They say, “once you’ve met a person, you never really forget them.” I am Andrea Reese F. Jovellanos. I am currently a 3rd year BA Communication student at Saint Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines. I also work at Weblio as a Home Based English Tutor. As a hobby, I read books, watch series, films, and listen to music. That 1-inch barrier never bothered me. I made this blog for my COM 215 Social Media Principles and Practices, a partial fulfillment to the course. I passed that subject. To this day, I continue to use this platform to showcase different sides of myself. Walk with me on a journey to ‘Re-See’ and constantly discover new things.

Camera-ready?

How do I look? Am I camera-ready? I practiced putting makeup on multiples times before taking this picture. I also faced difficulties while taking it because it was extremely hot that day. I asked someone to click the button but their kid kept trying. Then, I asked a teenager. But they were too deep in puberty with being moody. I only needed to submit two shots. However, I took at least 30. In some shots, my smile did not feel right, I was not in the middle, or the camera did not focus right. Someone said, “teamwork makes the dream work.” Yes, it does. Because it is so difficult to do it all alone.

Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats

It is important to assess how things progressed after an activity. In our case, my groupmates and I finished a remote interview with Ms. Ada Marie Sibayan-Bedard. How did we do? Here is what we had to say for ourselves: Our strengths: The group members were able to contact the…

MOJO: New Scoop

In partial fulfillment for Broadcasting Principles and Practices, my group and I created a MOJO (Mobile Journalism) tackling democracy under threat, COVID vaccination advocacy, voter education, media literacy campaign, and community pantry. Creating a 10-minute newscast is difficult. Our group’s news channel is called New Scoop. We covered topics…

Broadcast Writing

In broadcast television and radio, people only get to hear you once. There is a stark contrast between print media and broadcast because you only have one chance to be heard. It goes by rather quickly as well. Our professor gave my groupmates and me to write a broadcast about…

English Grammar Assessment

English is not my first language. It is my second. I grew up with people mostly speaking Filipino or Ilocano. There is beauty in the complexity of each language that existed and continues to exist. On February 16, our Professor in Broadcasting Principles and Practices tasked us to complete a…
